Exclusive Track Premiere: Obscura’s “The Monist”
“Monism,” the internet’s most valued research tool tells us, “is the view that attributes oneness or singleness to a concept (e.g. existence).” In that regard, Obscura’s “The Monist,” from their new album Akróasis, is appropriately titled. In part because its space age instrumentation (including some unexpectedly twangy gee-tar) and otherworldly vocals lend it a certain philosophical grandiosity… but mostly because it’s so friggin’ awesome that, surely, it will unite the metal community in their love of awesome tech-death. Put another way: the song shall make monists of us all!
MetalSucks is proud to debut “The Monist,” which you can stream below. Akróasis out February 5 on Relapse. Pre-order it here!
