Driver In Wormreich/Khaotika Crash Charged With DUI and First-Degree Homicide
Last April, a van carrying members of the bands Wormreich and Khaotika veered off the highway on a drive between Spartanburg, SC, and Atlanta, and crashed, killing two members of Wormreich and one member of Khatoika, and injuring multiple other band members.
Yesterday, OnlineAthens reported that the van’s driver, Sergio Jose Quesada, has been charged with DUI, failure to maintain a lane, and three counts of first-degree homicide by vehicle. He was booked into Jackson County Detention Center on Monday, with a $17,800 bond.
Quesada, the only person involved in the crash who walked away from it without injury, was originally believed to have fallen asleep at the wheel while transporting the bands. That he was intoxicated behind the wheel obviously changes things drastically.
We’ll let you know if we hear anything else regarding this case. In the meantime, our deepest condolences continue to go out to Wormreich and Khaotika, as well as their families and friends.
