Stream the New Abbath Album in its Entirety
We’ve been excited to hear Abbath’s new solo album since he announced it following his departure from Immortal. And now, a bunch of snow-globes and corpsepaint tours later, we finally can. The album can be streamed in its entirety below.
And, no surprise, it sounds a lot like what you’d expect — a middle ground between Abbath’s previous projects. It doesn’t quite have the infernal menace of Immortal, but it’s not exactly the icy thrash of I, either. Fans of both bands will find something to like, but might also want something a little bit more in either direction. But as far as debut albums go, though, it’s solid, and suggests good things about the solo band’s future (providing that Abbath can find new bandmates — it sounds like he can be difficult to work with).
Anyway, listen to Abbath below and feel the icy frosts of winter consume you. It comes out January 22 on Season of Mist. Pre-order it here. Abbath will also headline the 2016 edition of the Decibel Magazine Tour; support will come from High on Fire, Skeletonwitch, and Tribulation. Get dates here.
