Toothgrinder’s New Track “Blue” is Groovy, Hooky, Good
I’m digging the slow-burn approach to the release of Toothgrinder’s new album, Nocturnal Masquerade, which comes out on January 29th. One new song in November, one in December, and now another in January: just enough space between each single to breathe, but not so much that you forget a new album’s coming. And with each new tune I get more and more stoked for Nocturnal Masquerade! Obviously it’s waaaaay early to be talking “Best of 2016” stuff but, at least so far, it’s one of my favorites of this young year.
Toothgrinder’s latest, “Blue,” has a deep, mid-paced groove and a good hook in the chorus, almost like latter day Whitechapel mixed with Deftones. Seems like this album’s gonna be full of big hooks and even better songs. Check out “Diamonds for Gold” (featuring Periphery’s Spencer Sotelo) and “The House (That Fear Built)” as well.
