Ticketmaster Says Lemmy Will Play Download 2016, is Probably Incorrect

Well, this is embarrassing.

According to the UK’s Daily Star, Ticketmaster sent out an e-mail over the weekend, promising that Lemmy himself will perform at this year’s Download Festival. Which seems highly unlikely.

The e-mail also encouraged fans to go see Motörhead play five dates in the U.K. this month.

While some fans see the humor in this mistake, calling it “Lemmy’s comeback tour” or “proof that Lemmy is the Messiah,” other fans are outraged, claiming the error was in very poor taste. The latter group of fans are fools; it’s impossible for me to imagine Lemmy himself not having a sense of humor about the fuck-up. I mean, it’s not like Lemmy’s loved ones saw this e-mail and thought “OH MY GOD HE’S ALIVE!” Someone goofed. Shit happens. Have yourself a chuckle and move on with your day. Sheesh.
