Video: Mastodon’s Brann Dailor Teaches an Old Dude How to Play Drums

The “old people doing [insert metal thing]” theme is usually good for a laugh; see “Old People React to Slipknot,” this video of an 80-year-old woman enjoying The Black Dahlia Murder and this grandma shredding on the drums, just to name a few examples.

The latest elderly metal moment comes courtesy of Mikkeller’s “Stig’s Pagan Xmas Special,” a multi-part series in which an old man — that would be Stig — is shown doing various things that emphasize his oldness, like getting a tattoo or talking to his son, legendary metal musician Danny Lilker (is Lilker really his son? we’re not sure). Episode 9 pairs him up with Mastodon’s Brann Dailor, who attempts to teach Stig how to play drums and, well… watch to find out how it goes.

It seems as if this whole series is a glorified advertisement for a Belgian beer company, but whatever, it’s pretty cool.
