Native Construct’s Van Was Robbed in Broad Daylight
Boston progressive metallers Native Construct were robbed in Texas on Saturday while on tour with Between the Buried and Me, Enslaved and Intronaut, the victims of yet another van break-in. These sorts of stories have become way too common of late.
But worst of all, the robbery took place in broad daylight while the band was getting food, and although the criminals were caught in the act they somehow managed to get away with some of the band’s gear anyway.
From Native Construct’s Facebook page, posted at 6:01pm on Saturday:
Bad news incoming:
We were just robbed in San Antonio, Texas.
We came back from In N Out to two people in our van, tossing our backpacks (with our laptops, passports, and other valuables inside) as well as Poh Hock’s new Strandberg Boden OS 8 into their car parked alongside to conceal the break-in, which occurred in a Home Depot parking lot in broad daylight.
The guitar is pictured below. Any help in the form of shares, etc to get the word out about this unique guitar (in case it shows up in any pawn shops in the San Antonio area) is greatly appreciated.
Unfortunately, this also means we will likely not be able to make it to the Canada dates on this tour due to our passports being gone. Sorry, everyone.

While none of the stolen items have been recovered yet, Between the Buried and Me have graciously set up a GoFundMe campaign to help Native Construct get back on their feet. As of this writing, their goal of $5,000 is more than 4/5th of the way reached, which is pretty incredible. The metal community rallies around its own once again! The band also encourages anyone who wants to help out to buy merch.
The guitar serial number is W1507058, in case anyone in the San Antonio area or nearby Texas cities happens to see it pop up in a local music shop. Here’s a photo of it:
