Manowar, Greatest Metal Band of All Time, Release Live Video for “The Heart of Steel MMXIV”
In many ways Manowar really are the metal Gods they think they are. They refuse to tour the U.S. because they can’t get the same kind of money (or attendance) they can in Europe, and when they finally do announce a U.S. show it’s in friggin’ Long Island — because OF COURSE, where else? — and tickets cost over $100. I really wanted to go to see them when they did exactly that a couple years back, but FUCK, $100 for friggin’ Manowar! In retrospect… might’ve been worth it?
Though I’ve never seen the ‘War live I’ve of course watched enough performance vids to know how epic their shows are. And this official clip for “The Heart Of Steel MMXIV” — from last year’s re-recording of the 1988 album Kings of Metal — shows that these kings of metal haven’t let up at all. The video itself is kind of a lazy compilation of various live clips that don’t even match up with the studio recording dubbed over top, but that only adds to what’s so righteous about it… because fuck you, we’re Manowar, we don’t even NEED to try hard or to conform to your stupid video conventions to be awesome, we just are!
Watch the clip below. Manowar are coming to a town near you Neverday, but you can travel to Europe to watch them rock 70,000-capacity festivals if you’d like.
