Scientists Name New “Muscle Worm” in Henry Rollins’ Honor
Move over, Dave Mustaine — you are no longer the only politically outspoken musician to have something gross named after him!
Reports Phys.org:
“A muscly fossil fireworm, discovered by scientists from the University of Bristol and the Natural History Museum, has been named Rollinschaeta myoplena in honour of punk musician and spoken word artist, Henry Rollins.”
Dr. Jakob Vinther of Bristol’s School of Earth Sciences, who co-authored the study, goes on to refer to the creature as “a very buff little worm.”
Personally, I’d be afraid to use the word “worm” and “Rollins” in the same breath, lest the former Blag Flack vocalist crush my skull in the palm of his hand. Hopefully Rollins sees this as an honor, though. I mean, it’s not like he’ll ever have anything to be more embarrassed about than this:
