Music Video Premiere: Disparager, “At Least I Still Have Bon Iver”
Such is the great metropolis of New York City that a fantastic band from our very own borough can escape the sphere of even those of us who go to more shows than we can count. That yet another talented metal band lurks beneath the surface of our great city shouldn’t be too much of a surprise given how much amazing art exists here, but the fact that we’ve released four entire compilations of NYC metal bands (all free to download!) and we still haven’t even scratched the surface is straight intimidating.
Today we introduce you to Disparager, whose entrancing, animated video for “At least I Still Have Bon Iver” first caught our eye, but whose music sucked us in slowly and wouldn’t let go. Things don’t really get “metal” until around the four-minute mark, but we think you’ll enjoy Disparager’s unidentifiable brand of post-whatever anyway. And if not, the video — a tale of familial woe — will surely keep you entertained until things get heavy.
