Graf Orlock Make “A Decent Proposal in a Shitty Alley”
Graf Orlock have announced a new album, Crime Traveler (see what they did there?), and a new song from that album, “A Decent Proposal in a Shitty Alley.” And I am pleased as punch to report that the track is about as smooth as a cheese grater and as pretty as the band’s namesake.
Which is not to say that the track will be exactly what fans are expecting. Although Graf Orlock are primarily known as grind band, like their peers in Fuck the Facts, they’ve matured past what might best be described as “pure grind.” “Proposal” is over four minutes long (which practically qualifies it as a its own full-length in the grind community), and that entire running time consists of more than just a classically-grind tornado of noise. “Proposal” has peaks, valleys, and loops; even if you’ve never enjoyed GO’s music before, I highly recommend you check this out. This is not your older brother’s Graf Orlock.
