Toontrack Just Released Two New Expansion Packs for Superior Drummer 2 and EZdrummer 2
November is Metal Month for Toontrack, the Swedish software company that produces top-shelf DAW plugins such as Superior Drummer, EZdrummer, EZmix and countless other tools utilized by seasoned metal recording professionals and bedroom producers alike. For the fourth year in a row, MetalSucks is incredibly pleased to be partnering with Toontrack for Metal Month to present a series of exclusive content that’ll highlight and go behind the scenes of some of their new products for metal musicians and engineers. Stay tuned for that content later in the month.
For now, Metal Month kicks off with two new products. The Progressive Foundry is the drum expansion pack to end all drum expansion packs, featuring five complete kits, a total of 17 snare drums, 31 cymbals and five hi-hats, all captured on 26 separate channels and spanning a staggering 63 gigabytes of raw, unprocessed sounds, all recorded at the renowned Sing Sing Recording Studios in Melbourne, Australia, by engineer/producer Forrester Savell (Karnivool, Dead Letter Circus, I Am Giant). The Progressive EZX is a scaled down version of The Progressive Foundry designed for EZdrummer 2 that comes with three complete kits.
Check out a video that chronicles the making of new expansion packs below, and sample some of the drum sounds directly in the Soundcloud embed below that.
