Video: Tool Cover Led Zeppelin While Dressed as Led Zeppelin (And Play Part of a New Song?)

Following a tumultuous week in which Maynard James Keenan semi-accidentally insulted Tool fans during an interview, the much-worshipped quartet played their only show of 2015 this past Saturday evening, October 31 — which, in case you’re a dummy, is Halloween.

To celebrate the occasion, the band dressed up as Led Zeppelin (complete with Adam Jones rocking a double-neck Gibson SG, Jimmy Page-style) and covered “No Quarter.” Neat-o! Here’s video:

More exciting still: the band may or may not have played part of a new song. I mean, they definitely played something that isn’t an existing Tool song. Whether or not it’s actually new material is a mystery. We won’t know for sure ’til the band finally releases their new album in 2048, but in the meantime, here’s video of the possibly new song, which certainly sounds good n’ Toolish to these old ears:
