SOD Releasing a Split with… the Deftones?
I didn’t realize there’s another Record Store Day this year, though maybe that’s just because the idea of waiting in a long line to buy a special edition of an album I already own seems exhausting enough when it happens once a year. But there is — November 27th is apparently Black Friday Record Store Day, and there’s at least one thing coming out that I’m excited about: an SOD 7″…
…with the Deftones.
Yeah, I don’t get it either, but apparently it’s happening. Scott Ian tweeted the following confirmation:
Because they're on it as well covering Milk. https://t.co/uxkdAB7A00

Interesting! So, I guess the 7″ is the classic SOD track “Milk” along with the Deftones covering the song on the other side? That’s pretty cool. If anyone knows if there are any other tracks being featured, they should let us know.
Well, good for SOD for being open-minded, and good for the Deftones for having solid taste. Maybe this could be a new trend of nu-metal’s finest covering old-school thrash tracks. System of a Down covering Testament’s “Nightmare (Coming Back To You)”! Slipknot going to town on Dark Angel’s “Merciless Death”! The possibilities are endless.
Which cover would you like to hear? Let us know in the comments!
