“Ninja Untouchable/Untouchable Glory”: Gama Bomb’s Brain Is Infected By Devils
Since 2008’s Citizen Brain, I’ve been a firm supporter of Ireland’s thrash metal goofballs Gama Bomb. As far as bands singing about Christopher Lee and Streets of Rage go, they are the best; in my mind, they’re the Anthrax of a new generation.
So it was exciting to discover that not only did Metal Hammer reveal a new Gama Bomb video, but that it’s also a nonstop montage of martial arts movies. The song, “Ninja Untouchables/Untouchable Glory,” is the kind of chuggy panic attack you expect from these thrasher nerds, with lyrics to match. The video, meanwhile, is like a fevered dream of the most awesome ninja scenes from what seems like every martial arts movie ever made. It reminds me of Uncle Acid’s “Melody Lane” video–no bullshit story, no budget actors, just a genre-themed epileptic seizure.
Check out “Ninja Untouchables/Untouchable Glory” below. Gama Bomb’s new record, Untouchable Glory, comes out Friday, October 30, on AFM.
