Video: This 15-Year-Old Japanese Girl is Incredible at the Drums

The Internet abounds with videos of children the world over playing instruments more proficiently than most kids their age. A lot of those videos fall into the “Gee, that’s cute, it’s pretty good for a kid” category, but this is not one of those videos.

Metal Injection tipped us off to this video of Japanese teenager Senri Kawaguchi performing “Jinshin No Ran,” recorded in 2014 for a drum competition. And WOW… Kawaguchi is incredibly impressive, not just for a 15-year-old but for someone of ANY age. Her style is so smooth, so fluid, so precise but still with so much feel, it seems as if she’s ready for the big time NOW. I bet she’d have no problem ripping through a track by Dream Theater or any other metal band known for their complexity. The video is just astounding. Watch below.
