Earthside and Soilwork’s “Speed” Strid Make a Massive “Crater”
We’ve been raving about New Haven, CT progressive metal outfit Earthside since May, and, hallelujah!, the release of their debut album, A Dream in Static, in FINALLY just a couple of weeks away from release. So soon we’ll all be able to revel in Earthside-y goodness.
Now Yahoo! has debut a song from Static, “Crater,” which features a guest appearance by Soilwork vocalist Bjorn “Speed” Strid. The best way I can think to describe the track is this: if a song could have its head in the clouds, “Crater” would be that song. I mean that as a compliment.
But here, why not just check it out and hear for yourself?
A Dream in Static comes out October 23. In addition to Strid, it features guest appearances by Lajon Witherspoon (Sevendust), Daniel Tompkins (TesseracT, ex-Skyharbor), and the Moscow Studio Symphony Orchestra (MSSO). It was recorded and mixed by David Castillo (Opeth, Katatonia, Bloodbath), with additional mixing and mastering by additional mix and mastering engineer Jens Bogren (Opeth, Soilwork, The Ocean, Devin Townsend). Yes, it is as impressive as it sounds.
