You Can’t Fire Barren Womb, Because They Quit
Barren Womb, the Norwegian band Vince once called “a more punk Kvelertak,” have announced that their sophmore effort, Nique Everything, will be coming out November 27 on Spartan Records. Since you’re very likely wondering, “nique” is French for “picnic,” but it can also, apparently, be used as an idiom for “to thumb one’s nose at.” Presumably, that’s how Barren Womb mean it — Thumb Your Nose at Everything — although it would be kinda swell if they meant it the other way — Picnic Everything.
Here’s the album cover, which depicts your average Five Finger Death Punch fan’s Sunday afternoon:You can listen to “You Can’t Fire Me, Because I Quit,” the debut single from Nique Everything, below (courtesy of Brooklyn Vegan). It’s a ripper, and totally reinforces Vince’s most excellent Kvelertak comparison. Then you can pre-order the album here. Then you can go turn a bunch of random activities into picnics.
