Exclusive Track Premiere: Mantric, “Arrogance vs. Anxiety”
When it rains Mantric, it pours Mantric: after a five-year silence following their 2010 year-end-list-charting The Descent, the Norwegians returned this past June with the Die Old EP, and will follow that with the full album Sin a couple of weeks from now. Sure, all of the EP’s tracks are included on the album too, but that’s a hell of a way to return from such a long absence, right? Tease fans with what they’ve been missing, then whack ’em over the head with the hammer.
Today MetalSucks has the exclusive premiere of “Arrogance vs. Anxiety,” Sin‘s fourth track. As we’ve come to expect from Mantric, the track is proggy, weird, experimental and strikingly accessible all at once. If you’ve heard the EP already you know that the album’s production style is a bit more post-metal-y this time around, but it suits the band exceptionally well: they sound absolutely great here.
Sin comes out on September 25th via Loyal Blood Records. Pre-order it at Mantric.net.
