Gorod Pray at the “Temple of the Art God”

One element of “Temple of the Art God,” the new song from Gorod, which may catch you off-guard: how melodious the track is. Not that it’s like a Linkin Park song or something — it’s still equal parts heavy and techy and schizo as fuck, just like Gorod has always been. But there’s something pensive and maybe even melancholic about the track which makes it, by tech-death standards anyway, an “easy” listen. That’s not a knock against Gorod — I think the song rules! But if someone was like, “Yo, I’ve never really been into tech death, it all just sounds like riff salad to me,” I might play them this song in order to try and seduce them over to the tech side.
