Devil You Know Post New Track “Stay of Execution;” Track Rips Faces

Where did we land with Devil You Know’s debut album The Beauty of Destruction? I don’t quite remember, which isn’t the best sign, but if memory serves I think it more or less met expectations given the cast of characters involved: it had a few really good songs on it and was a solid effort overall, though it didn’t necessary bowl anyone over. I do recall it being an album that grew on me after a few listens, and if nothing else, it’s always fantastic to hear Howard Jones’ voice.

SiriusXM has been spinning a new Devil You Know track “Stay of Execution” every three hours over the past day, and Metal Injection tipped us off to the below radio rip. While we usually don’t post leaks/rips, the band’s label claimed this one for monetization so it should be kosher and this version should stay up… at least until it’s officially posted. We’ll swap in the official version when that happens. [UPDATE: Official track stream posted below. -Ed.]

In any case, wat u think?? This one certainly showcases the band’s heavier side; those Francesco riffs are beastly! Weirdly I find myself wanting a bit more melody because that’s what I’ve come to love and expect from Jones, but there’s no dying this track is a banger.

Devil You Know’s new album should be out some time before year’s end.
