KISS’ Gene Simmons Explains Task Force Raid
Last month, Gene Simmons’ house was raided by an LAPD Crimes Against Children task force, though it was announced that neither he nor any member of the Simmons family was in any way a suspect.
Now, Simmons has come forward and discussed what happened. Talking to News.com.au, the Kiss frontman said the following:
“They came in and searched all over the place, then two or three hours later we all sat down.
“What happened was, we were off on tour about a year ago, and somehow our connection was used by some very bad people to do porn of a certain kind – the worst kind.”
He says the police were able to verify that, while the alleged offences were committed, Simmons was on the other side of the US, his children were in Canada and his wife Shannon was out of the country. They further verified that it wasn’t possible to commit the suspected offences from a remote location.
Simmons adds: “They’re on the trail – and we’re actually helping the FBI and the cops track down the bad guy.”
Man, the Gene Simmons/Ice-T repartee on Law & Order: SVU would be amazing. Though honestly, it’d mostly be removing and putting on sunglasses on Gene’s side of the conversation.
All joking aside, good on Simmons for resolving this and being open about it in the press. Many musicians would hide behind this and make things worse for themselves, but the Demon’s got nothing to hide. More so, while we certainly think Gene is a putz who doesn’t know dick about music today, it would break our hearts if he turned out to be a child pornographer, who as far as human beings go should have their fucking eyes pulled out and fed to them.
