Glenn Danzig Confirms Portlandia Cameo, Proves He’s Good at Signing His Initials

Last week’s news that Danzig and his Man Tits would be appearing on the upcoming season of Portlandia pretty much made our summer. The revelation came via the show’s co-creator Carrie Brownstein, but — besides a very alluring photo — Danzig himself remained typically mum.

Until now! The following message appeared on Danzig’s Facebook page late last week:

DANZIG TO GUEST ON EPISODE OF ‘PORTLANDIA’

DANZIG was up in Portland, Oregon tuesday filming an episode of IFC’s ‘Portlandia’ with Fred Armisen & Carrie Brownstein. DANZIG will be a guest this upcoming season.
“Fred & Carrie are Fantastic…I had a Blast!, Thanks to them & their whole team…Another reason, along with Voodoo Donuts & Powells Bookstore that I dig Portland, GD”.
Glenn has signed his copy of the script, which Fred & Carrie also graciously signed for him & we will be auctioning it off with all proceeds being donated to ‘The Humane Society’.

Why does Glenn Danzig feel the need to sign a three sentence statement with his initials? Is there any doubt that the quote in question is his? Especially given it appeared on his own Facebook page? Perhaps these questions should not be asked; Glenn’s mind works in mysterious ways.
