Premiere: A “Forewarning” About One Machine (ex-Testament, Forbidden, Nevermore)
After encountering guitarist Steve Smyth as a member of late-era Testament, Nevermore, and Forbidden, we know that he’s an elite ripper and clutch sideman. So we’re pumped about the forthcoming second album by One Machine, his rad band for fans of late-era Testament, Nevermore, and Forbidden. Via “Forewarning” (below), that album’s first track, you can tell that Smyth can power his own project, yes, but also that he’s a sharp bandleader: The new singer he hired is awesome!
Bonus points: According to Smyth, The Final Cull (that’s the new album) was recorded live in the studio, which hints at human, cohesive performances. Sure, that’s something that a listener probably just senses, but cheers to Smyth all the same for the thought. Crank it up!
One Machine’s The Final Cull is out September 18 via Scarlet. Pre-order here.
