Dead Letter Circus are Hiding “In Plain Sight”
Dead Letter Circus released their third studio album Aesthesis earlier this month, and though we’ve yet to cover it that’s not for lack of love: we’ve been big fans of this spectacularly talented band in the past. They hit that sweet spot of heavy but not-quite-metal, hard rock but not dumbed down, complex but not overly proggy, catchy but not cheesy. In short: they’re great, and you should listen.
The band just released a music video for the track “In Plain Sight,” and here’s what frontman Kim Benzie had to say about it:
“In Plain Sight” was inspired by the loop you can so easily slip into but find so hard to escape from following rejection. One mistake we made when filming this clip was choosing to do all the water scenes after midnight in the middle of winter. I was the coldest I have ever been in my life as they drenched me for a couple of hours. Ended up having to cancel three shows that week due to being sick. I’d do it all again in a heartbeat though.
Aesthesis is out now digitally via The End, although you’ll need to be patient until September 25th to get physical copies (CD and vinyl). Check out another song from the record called “While You Wait.”
