Supergroup Metal Allegiance To Launch New Album At Live Interview Event
Heavy metal supergroup Metal Allegiance — not be confused with the ill-fated Metal Alliance tour — are releasing their self-titled debut album at a live interview event on Friday, September 18th at AOL Studios in New York. The event is part of BackStory, a live interview series hosted by journalist Brad Tolinski.
To review, Metal Allegiance is David Ellefson (also of Megadeth), Alex Skolnick (also of Testament), Mike Portnoy (I should not have to explain to you who Mike Portnoy it), and Mark Menghi (he’s sort of the new guy — Metallum says he’s from a Long Island band named Constricted. He’s also been a part of the “Metal Masters” supergroup performances.). As far as supergroups go, that’s a pretty solid line-up, right?
Meanwhile, their album features guests spots from the following people: Philip H. Anselmo, Charlie Benante, Chuck Billy, D. Randall Blythe, Rex Brown, Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal, Phil Demmel, Alissa White-Gluz, Matthew K. Heafy, Gary Holt, Jamey Jasta, Chris Jericho, Andreas Kisser, Misha Mansoor, Mark Osegueda, Tim “Ripper” Owens, dUg Pinnick, Troy Sanders, Cristina Scabbia, Steve “Zetro” Souza, and Ben Weinman. So, as far as guest spots go, this album basically bites off Teenage Time Killers‘ dong and spits it back at them.
Point is, you can see this live interview launch yourself by buying tickets here. Hopefully, there will be a Q&A portion of the event where you can be a dick and just ask questions about Peace Sells and Practice What You Preach.
