Video: Monuments Vocalist Crowd-Surfs in an Inflatable Raft

Crazy things happen in Romania. Well… truth be told, I have no idea what happens in Romania: I’m an ignorant ‘Murican after all.

But this I do know: at the Rockstadt Extreme Fest in Brasov, Romania this past weekend, Monuments vocalist Chris Barretto crowd-surfed above an adoring audience.

That might not seem all THAT crazy — dudes in bands crowd-surf all the time — but that the guy did it in a frickin’ inflatable raft is pretty impressive! Just where said raft came from — did someone in the audience just happen to have one and Barretto seized the moment, or was this an orchestrated stunt? — isn’t exactly clear, but the fact that it happened at all is damn cool.

The raft section starts around the 2:50 mark in the clip below. You’ll see the raft go up and an audience member board for a ride, then Barretto call for it to come towards him before he jumps up onto it himself. Next up I’d like to see Barretto try his chops in a kayak and see how far he can make it.
