The Atlas Moth Seek Out Extra Terrestrial Life in New Song and Video, “The 6th Passenger is Death”
Didja know that The Atlas Moth and KEN Mode are releasing a split 7″ in October? I’d somehow missed the memo on that, but more Atlas Moth and more KEN Mode are never bad for business. It’s been a full year since The Atlas Moth released The Old Believer so it’s high time for new music from them, and even though KEN Mode just released Success a couple of months ago… fuck it, more KEN Mode!
The Atlas Moth are the first to get their track from the split out into the world, and they’ve done so in dazzling, honest-to-goodness music video form. By that I mean that the clip for “The 6th Passenger Is Death” is a real video with a real budget that features a scripted storyline; there are no shots of the band headbanging in a abandoned warehouse anywhere to be seen here. Ryan Oliver, who also directed the video for 2011’s “Your Calm Waters,” comes back for this one, which follows a group of extra terrestrial life-seekers in the desert when things take a turn for the unexpected in their underground research bunker.
KEN mode’s contribution to the 7″ is called “Absolutely Not,” which we’ll presumably get to hear before too long. Meanwhile, pre-orders for the split are up now at this location. Catch The Atlas Moth on tour with Vattnet Viskar and Atriarch starting this week; dates here.
