Happy Friday, MetalSucks reader! Welcome to MetalSucks Friday 5, our awesome series that appears every Friday (duh) on MetalSucks (duhh) and involves the quantity of five (duhhh).

Here’s how it works: A list of best/worst/weirdest/whatever five somethings is posted by one of your beloved MetalSucks contributors or by one of our buds (like you?). Then you, our cherished reader, checks it out, has a chuckle, then chimes in with a list of the same. No sweat, just whatever springs to mind, k? (Just like that movie about those losers working at a Chicago record store!) After all, it’s Friday — the day dedicated by the gods to mindless, fun time-wasting.

Today, let’s talk about semi-official concert videos (non-VHS category)!

THE FIVE

What five heavy concert clips do you recommend to everybody?

1. Lord Mantis live at Martyrdoom Fest
2014

Happy Friday everybody, it’s me Anso DF of MetalSucks. Ask me a million years ago if anyone would enjoy live music on a little screen and from teeny speaker(s), I would’ve spat in your face sir. But here in 2015, I’d be at your door with an apology for the whole spitting incident, because I’ve had religious experiences with my phone and pro-shot concert footage. I mean, I couldn’t make it to any of these jams without major air or time travel. This will do! Share your favorites too and crank these five!

2. “Anesthesia” by Type O Negative
2007

On the album Life Is Killing Me, this jam begins at the 61st minute. By then a listener might have faded away a bit, answer a few texts, make a smoothie, whatever — but “Anesthesia” gets prime placement at Type O’s concerts from 2003 forward. Once you experience one of those performances, that hour will just fly by.

.

3. Cult Of Fire live in St. Petersburg, Russia
2014

At the same time, I’m annoyed by that handful of cell phones obscuring my view of Cult Of Fire blowing a whole through Russia’s capitol (I think). The irony!

·

4. “Go Your Own Way” by Fleetwood Mac
1977

I know this space is reserved for discussion of metal, but I’ll lean towards disbelief of any complaints.

·

5. “Can’t Be Sure” by The Sundays
1992

See #4. Do you love this?

·

Your turn! Have a great wknd!
