Ten Guitarists We’d Be Happy to See Join Guns N’ Roses
Earlier today, Dj Slashba announced that he has parted ways with Guns N’ Roses six years. Sad though this news may be, it does provide one fun opportunity: fantasy casting! YEAH!
One note before we begin: for the sake of taking this seriously/being realistic, we have discarded any potential candidates who have already turned down or been turned down for a gig in Guns N’ Roses — so no Joe Satriani, no Derek Trucks, no Joshua Craig, etc.
And on that note… here we go!
#1 – Slash
He was already in Guns N’ Roses from 1985-1996, so he would just need to learn the Chinese Democracy material!
#2 – Izzy Stradlin
He was already in Guns N’ Roses from 1985-1991, so he would just need to learn the Chinese Democracy material!
#3 – Duff McKagan
He was already in Guns N’ Roses from 1985-1997, and he toured with them last year, so he would already know the Chinese Democracy material!
#4 – Gilby Clarke
He was already in Guns N’ Roses from 1991-1994, so he would just need to learn the Chinese Democracy material!
#5 – Paul Tobias
He was already in Guns N’ Roses from 1994-2002, so he already knows all the material!
#6 – Dave Navarro
He already appeared on the 1999 Guns N’ Roses track “Oh My God,” so he would just need to learn all the other material!
#7 – Robin Finck
He was already in Guns N’ Roses from 1997-2008, so he already knows all the material!
#8 – Buckethead
He was already in Guns N’ Roses from 200-2004, so he already knows all the material!
#9 – Tracii Guns
He was already in Guns N’ Roses in 1985, so he would just need to learn all the material they’ve written and recorded since then!
#10 – Chris Holmes
Okay, he was never in Guns N’ Roses, but… can you imagine the beautiful music these two could make together?!?!
