The Black Dahlia Murder Urge You Not to Forget Your “Receipt”
Is The Black Dahlia Murder’s “Receipt” the first ever death metal song about shopping? Uh, probably not. I can’t make out everything Trevor Strnad is screeching during the track, but I can distinctly make out the phrase “I never belonged here” during the chorus. So I think it’s safe to say that the titular voucher is a metaphorical one.
Or, who knows, maybe dude just got really pissed that The Gap wouldn’t let him exchange the sweater his grammie got him for Christmas. Either way, song is awesome.
Check out “Receipt” below, courtesy of Revolver. Abysmal is out September 18 on Metal Blade. Pre-order it here. The band kicks off a your with Iron Reagan, Harm’s Way, and Maruta in October. Get dates here.
