VI

It’s petty, but we’ve all quietly rejoiced at the break-up of at least a few bands. That band might not be so bad, but maybe their music is an unwelcome and regular visitor in our lives: our loved ones are fans, or their songs surface on our curated music services, or we do business with them, or whatever. It causes fatigue and forces us to be negative, like a friend of a friend who crashes in your guest room too often. And once that band finally breaks up, it’s a relief.

But sooner than later, each of its principle members resurface with new projects, and you’re like, Son of a bitch, This one problem might have just replaced itself with a few new problems. VI is the opposite of all facets of this phenomenon: awesome bands Aosoth and Merrimack have not broken up, their new project is an amalgamation not a dispersal, and it’s cause to rejoice not to despair. Remember this win on the approaching day that you find yourself assdeep in ex-Trivium projects.

VI’s De Praestigiis Angelorum is out September 25 via Agonia. Pre-order here.
