Exclusive Song Premiere: “Swallow & Trap Them!” by Sibiir

What if, by some miracle, before calling they both called it a day in 2009, Burst and Burnt by the Sun had shared a romantic evening? Maybe they were having their retirement parties at the same bar. They spotted one another from across the room. One mosied over to tell the other how much they admired them. The compliment was returned. They bought each other a few drinks. Then they bought each other a few too many drinks. Next thing you know, bada bing, bada boom, they wake up next to each other, and, no, they didn’t use protection.

The resulting offspring would probably sound a lot like Sibiir. The Oslo all-star group — which features members of Sigh & Explode, Jack Dalton, Call:Vega and Do You Love Melena? — play a style of post-metal/hardcore that seamlessly blends Burnt by the Sun’s vitriolic, chunky grooves with the elasticity and cinematic feel of Burst. It’s GREAT stuff.
