Foo No More
If you’ve seen Faith No More live, you know they do this cool thing during “Midlife Crisis” where they pause before the final chorus, play a chunk of a different song (e.g., Stevie Wonder’s “Sir Duke”), and then launch into the big finale.
So: during a recent performance at Belgium’s Rock Werchter festival, the song chunk in question was a mash-up of the Foo Fighters’ “All My Life” and The Trashmen’s “Surfin’ Bird.” The reason for the Foo Fighters cover? Well, FNM had to step up and headline the fest after the Foos were forced to cancel due to Dave Grohl breaking his leg. The reason for The Trashmen cover? Yeah I have no idea, but I kinda suspect it’s just because Mike Patton couldn’t remember the lyrics to “All My Life.”
