Listen to a Brand New Keith Merrow Song Called “The Mirelands”

Gear Gods is a musician nerd site, so it makes sense that the site’s EIC and MetalSucks contributor Trey Xavier would frame this new Keith Merrow video as “Keith Merrow Demos Driftwood Purple Nightmare,” which, in case you’re not a gear nerd (most of you), is a new amp head that I suppose is worthy of fapping over.

But this is MetalSucks, where we delight in new jams from the musicians we love, so we frame it thusly: there’s a brand new Keith Merrow song called “The Mirelands!” And here’s a video of Merrow himself playing it through! There are a couple of cuts where guitar tracks are isolated and amp settings are futzed with, but for the most part we get to experience the crux of what this new Merrow song is about — so hit play and enjoy.

Merrow simply credits the song as being from an “unreleased project,” which could mean anything, but hopefully it means we’ll be getting a new solo album from him sooner rather than later. It’s been since 2012’s Retrospecial that Keith’s released any new solo jams, although the 2014 Conquering Dystopia record was of course heavy with his imprint.
