Unsigned and Unholy: Shrine, Warforged

So much great metal is coming out of Iceland these days! Shrine — formerly known as Gone Postal — have that visceral, churning, atmospheric death metal thing going, so chance are that if you like bands such as Ulcerate and Dysrhythmia, you’re gonna dig Shrine. Check out their latest track “Spewing Gloom” from their Bandcamp page below and tell me it doesn’t absolutely melt faces.

You may not be familiar with Warforged yet, but you will be soon. The Chicago technical death metallers have been making waves of late, and our own Dave Mustein had fantastic things to say when his band Existential Animals played a gig with them last year. Their new track “Two Demons” appears on a compilation album that’s a tribute for the late Brian Shields, a fixture of the Bay Area metal scene who passed away in February, and anyone who likes proggy death metal in the vein of Fallujah, Rivers of Nihil, Black Crown Initiate etc is surely gonna get into it.
