Rivers of Nihil Announce New Album, Monarchy; Release First Single, “Perpetual Growth Machine”

It’s hard to remember the last time I had as high hopes for a sophomore effort as I do for that of Rivers of Nihil. (Kvelertak maybe?) The band’s debut, The Conscious Seed of Light, absolutely CRUSHED, and found its way onto many a year-end list. So will they now hit a sophomore slump, or reaffirm their place as one of the best young metal bands out there today?

My educated guess: it’s the latter! ‘Cause the band has now announced the release of their second offering, Monarchy, AND unveiled the first single from that album, “Perpetual Growth Machine”… and it’s absolutely annihilative. An actual, real-life sharknado wouldn’t be a tenth as deadly; the digital wizards behind San Andreas only wish they could conceive of such destruction. This shit is hot. How hot? So hot it will burn your ass on its way out. THAT hot.
