Converse Rubber Tracks is killing it among corporate sponsors of independent metal. They host free shows featuring everyone from Extinction A.D. to Slayer and offer free recording to up-and-coming bands in their Brooklyn studio. It doesn’t hurt that they co-host our CRT x MetalSucks studio sessions and live showcases. These guys know what they’re doing–and thankfully, they’re about to start doing a lot more of it.

Metal Insider reports that not only will Converse be building a second Rubber Tracks studio in Boston, but they’ll be hosting recording sessions in some of the most iconic studios across the world. Currently listed are the following: Abbey Road Studios in London, England; Sunset Sound in Los Angeles, California; Hansa Tonstudio in Berlin, Germany; Tuff Gong in Kingston, Jamaica; Greenhouse Studios in Reykjavik, Iceland; The Warehouse Studio in Vancouver, Canada; Avast Recording Co. in Seattle, Washington; Stankonia in Atlanta, Georgia; Studios 301 in Sydney, Australia;  and Toca do Bandido in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

I think we can all agree, FUCK YEAH, SON. It’s one thing to do recordings in London and LA, but Kingston, Rio, and Reykjavik? Even if these are famous studios, Converse is really showing their awareness of underground music all over the world. And Scion thought a car with the Slayer logo on it was cool…

If you’re in an underground or unsigned band from one of these regions, go sign up here. And if you’re a fan, keep an eye out — we’ve got details for our 2015 edition of Converse Rubber Tracks x MetalSucks coming soon!
