The Russian Sympho-Power Metal Cover of Motley Crue’s “Kickstart My Heart” You Never Knew You Always Needed
It’d be enough if this cover of Motley Crue’s “Kickstart My Heart” by the Russian band Арктида (“Arktida”) were simply a symphonic power metal version of the classic there. That right there’d be plenty ridiculous and worthy of a listen.
But Арктида have taken it one step further and translated the song’s lyrics into Russian. Which is all well and good, it just sounds… weird! You’re not used to hearing the song this way, with a chorus that sounds like “Sashky my boos” instead of the familiar refrain. And that just makes it all the more bizarre… unless you speak Russian, I suppose.
It would appear that Арктида have a new album out called Помни for those interested in more like this. Thanks to the anonymous MS reader who sent this in.
