Shining (SWE) Show Real Assault and Murder Footage In NSFW “Vija & Dröm” Video
Sweden’s Shining (the death metal dudes, not the freaky-deaky Norse jazz metallers) have released a video for their track “Vilja & Dröm” (it means want and dream). Check it out below, but be warned, it’s NSFW, as director Martin Strandberg has intercut footage of the band with actual footage of assault, murder, and mob violence.
Any metalhead worth his salt has seen a Faces of Death clip or two, but you might want to be careful with this video. Strandberg really went for broke here. There’s close-up shootings, really brutal street beatings… the worst. This isn’t a silhouette limply falling out of a window, this is some graphic real-world violence. So if you’re the kind of person who flinches at actual death, you might want to back off from this video. A death metal album cover is a lot less awful than, say, actual impalement.
As you can see, there’s also some semi-erotic glove-licking going on, too, so, you know… also watch out for that?
Shining’s latest, IX – Everyone, Everything, Everywhere, Ends, is out now.
