Memorial Monday To Check Your Melon

Several lifetimes ago I knew a guy who always used to ask “How’s your melon?” as an in-passing “how ya feeling?” and at the time it seemed pretty goofy — his uber-stony inflection and follow-up question (“…is it feeling copacetic?!?”) didn’t help add any level of legitimacy — but in retrospect I fully appreciate his concern for my head.

Checking/keeping/giving/receiving — good head(s) is/are meant to be valued, no?
