“I Am Winter”: Fin’amor Make Frozen Terrifying

Metal Insider has premiered a new song by Brooklyn’s Fin’amor, entitled “I Am Winter.” The seven-minute doom-death epic is from the band’s upcoming album Forbidding Mourning, and it’s as crushing and sorrowful as it gets. Listen below.

Describing what the song is about, vocalist Benjamin Meyerson said the following:

“I Am Winter” is about Elsa’s need to abandon her sister and friends and isolate herself because she’s afraid her powers will hurt the ones she loves.

Wait… seriously? Is this song about Disney’s Frozen?

The thing is, while there’s a great chance Meyerson’s taking the piss, it would be kind of cool if he wasn’t. Frozen is about a creature of pure winter being shunned by the world and creating her own kingdom of cold. That’s about as black metal as possible. And we know people love a good metal Frozen cover.
