First Bands Announced for Housecore Horror Festival 2015
Earlier this week we reported that the Housecore Horror Festival would be returning for its third year despite the loss of its co-founder (and MetalSucks contributor) Corey Mitchell. And just like that, now we’ve got dates, a venue, and the first round of bands.
Lambgoat reports that the festival will take place from November 13th to 15th, and it’ll be moving to the Aztec Theater in San Antonio from Austin, where it had been the past two years. In an interesting development, Maryland Deathfest co-founder Ryan Taylor will be helping Phil Anselmo with the booking of the fest; we’re sure this can only mean good things given MDF’s storied history of landing top-tier talent. Here are the confirmed acts so far:
Suffocation
Autopsy
Cripple Bastards
Nails
SYk & Dalila Kayros
YOB
Eyehategod
Child Bite
Warbeast
Says Anselmo on the passing of his friend Corey Mitchell, and the decision to keep the festival going in his memory:
I’ve got a great team in place to help make this what Corey and I wanted it to be. There are a lot of mixed emotions here because no one can replace him. But, we know he would want this to continue and so that’s what we’re going to do. We miss him and think about him every day.
As usual, the festival is more than just a metal show: the festival will screen film gems from the personal vaults of both Anselmo and Mitchell.
More details forthcoming, and tickets will be going on sale soon.
