New Episode of Metal Injection’s On the Record Explores the Evolution of Music Gear

Is there any other genre of music that has an equipment fetish as severe as metal’s? I’m aware that musicians in other genres care about their gear, but metal musicians CARE about their gear, y’know? (It’s actually why we teamed up with our buds at Metal Injection to launch Gear Gods — we couldn’t believe there wasn’t already a site that covered gear specifically as it pertains to extreme music… so we decided to start one!)

To that end, the the latest episode of Metal Injection’s awesome On the Record series concentrates on gear — specifically, how gear has changed over the years, and how those changes have impacted the music we love.

In addition to Vince, myself, the Metal Injection d00dz and the Gear Gods bruhs, the episode contains interviews with members of Periphery, Trivium, Candiria, The Dillinger Escape Plan, and Revocation, plus Kurt Ballou from God City Studios and Converge, Will Putney from Graphic Nature Audio and Fit For An Autopsy, and Kevin Antreassian from Backroom Studios. In other words: a whole lotta peeps who know their shit.
