Craig Gruber, Original Bassist of Rainbow, Dies at 63
Blabbermouth reports that Craig Gruber, the original bassist of Rainbow, died yesterday of prostate cancer. He was 63.
Gruber had a lengthy musical career intertwined with that of Ronnie James Dio, who he also played with in Elf and Black Sabbath, when Gruber briefly replaced Geezer Butler in 1980. He also played with the Rods, his own band Bible Black, and more recently Raven Lord.
