Stone Sour is Apparently a Cover Band Now – First of Three Covers EP Streaming

Wait, who the fuck is Stone Sour again? The band with two, no wait one member of Slipknot is now streaming their first of three cover EPs, entitled Meanwhile in Burbank… 

Singer Corey Taylor insists that this doesn’t mean the end of the group, although the decision to make three cover EPs with five songs each instead of one album with fifteen songs seems like something dumb you do in the last days of your band. Or something you do when you kicked out the strongest songwriter in the group. It’s impossible to know, of course, because the inner workings of a band are hard to gauge from the outside, but I can tell you a covers EP or three is significantly easier than making an album of originals.

Really, would you care if they became a full-on covers band? I don’t think I could name one of their original songs anyway, and most of these covers sound like “Corey Taylor + band.” Seems like a pretty easy way to make a buck, so I can’t say I blame them.
