Children of Bodom’s Alexi Laiho To Perform with 100 Guitarists in Helsinki

Children of Bodom guitarist/vocalist Alexi Laiho has been commissioned to compose a song for the Helsinki Festival in his home country of Finland, and apparently his symphony of choice is a group of no less than 100 guitarists.

Far be it for me to poke holes in a great idea, but I can’t imagine how one would get 100 amplifiers onto one stage, power them, and then coordinate a performance of all those people together. I can barely get 5 people together for band practice once a week! Nonetheless, the excitement lies in the possibility of failure, and even a failure of this magnitude would be very cool to watch. I hope it works exactly how he imagines it to.
