GWAR-B-Q 2015 to Feature Down, Goatwhore, The Dickies, More
The 2015 edition of GWAR-B-Q has just announced the first wave of bands, and it is a wiqqed line-up, bruh:
- Descendents
- Down
- The Dickies
- Goatwhore
- MC Chris
- Dead Earth Politics
- RPG
This is in addition to GWAR (duh) and other, yet-to-be-announced acts, all of whom will be spread over three stages for the ‘Q.
I don’t need to sell any of you on the quality of Down, Goatwhore, or Descendents… but the band I’m surprised and elated to see on here is The Dickies. Vince and I were obsessed with that band circa the Killer Klowns from Outer Space/Idjit Savant era, and at that point they’d already been kicking ass and taking names for more than a decade. They’re not metal at all, but they are fucking awesome. (And Jeff Walker agrees with us.)
The 2015 GWAR-B-Q massive three-day-party will happen from August 14-16 in Richmond, VA. The event’s pre-part, B4BQ, takes place on August 14 at The National and The Broadberry; GWAR-B-Q itself takes place August 15 at Hadad’s Lake; and the after-party, The Brutal Brunch, will take place August 16 at the band’s recently-launched GWARbar. As has been the case in past years, part of the proceeds will go to Ring Dog Rescue a non-profit organization dedicated to the safety and preservation of the “Pit Bull type dogs.” Get more details, including ticket and lodging info, here.
