Here’s Some Footage of Intronaut Playing a New Song Live
Intronaut are one of the most consistently awesome and awesomely consistent bands in modern metal. Twenty years from now, or maybe even just ten, when the epitaph of ’00s and ’10s metal has been written, Intronaut will surely go down as one of the greats of their generation, even if they never go on to achieve the level of widespread success and recognition of, say, Lamb of God.
The ‘Naut are currently laying down tracks for their fifth full-length album — huzzah! — but this past weekend they opened a couple of dates for Meshuggah in California.* The ‘Naut decided to whip out a new jam at their show in Anaheim, and thankfully someone had the wherewithal to hoist a cell phone up into the air to capture it. Here’s the footage via Heavy Blog:
Sounds pretty promising, right? No vocals, but that could be a case of the lyrics not having been written yet — or maybe this is simply an instrumental number. Either way, it rocks. Can’t wait to hear it in proper album audio form. Bonus: Devin Townsend is gonna mix the album!
*These bands have a history together, of course: they toured together a few years back, and Intronaut guitarist/vocalist Sacha Dunable filled in for Jens Kidman when the latter was too sick with the flu to perform.
