Video Premiere: Stevie T. Parodies A Day To Remember in “A Night to Forget”
We here at MetalSucks don’t know a ton about A Day To Remember. But here’s what we do know:
1) They’re really popular with the Warped Tour metal set.
2) Our own Sergeant D invented the term “easycore” to describe their sound, and that phrase stuck to such an extent that it now has both a Wikipedia and Urban Dictionary entry and tags all over YouTube, Bandcamp, etc.
3) That one A Day To Remember video/song featuring members of The Acacia Strain, As I Lay Dying, The Red Chord and Andrew WK was pretty sweet.
4) They have a sense of humor about themselves, which we at MS HQ can always appreciate.
Hopefully the lads in A Day to Remember keep #4 in mind when watching this parody video by Internet metal funny guy Stevie T. Based on what we’ve seen of A Day To Remember he totally hits the nail on the head, from the easycore, major key, chugged riffs, to the visual aesthetic, to the overly melodramatic high school lyrics about “friends in my hometown.” Perfect; well done, Stevie!
Watch the Chris Paco-directed video clip below. The song is taken from Stevie T’s Album of Epicness, out April 28th via Artery Recordings (order: iTunes, merch bundles).
